Can Marc track people or their location?
Marc does not include GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microphones, cameras, or any type of sensor.
It does not know where a user is, or where the brochure physically is.
So what does “location” mean in the dashboard?
When a Marc connects to the cellular network, it receives a cell tower ID as part of the normal network connection process.
We use this tower ID only to estimate how many different places a Marc has been engaged, not where it is located.
This means:
- It does not identify the person who opened it
- It does not show addresses or exact locations
- It does not provide GPS coordinates
- It simply counts how many different areas the Marc was used in
Why does the location sometimes appear inaccurate?
The approximate location shown in the dashboard is derived from a publicly available database of cell tower locations.
This data is not intended for precise location tracking.
Its purpose is to show whether a Marc was engaged in multiple locations, not to identify where those locations are.
